Hey, here are the pictures of my Phaius tankerville, the famous nun caps orchid in bloom, this actually is a division I separated last year, the mother plant is yet to produce spikes. This one has two spikes with plenty of flowers.

That's beautiful, Amey! I understand that this orchid can be grown in garden soil. Have you ever tried to grow it that way? Just wondering...Betty :-)

I just cut my spent spikes off and laid them on wet moss, trying the old trick of sprouting the nodes. Hopefully I will get some!

Betty this one is actually growing in the potting mix I use for my ferns, it is composed of 0.5 part garden soil, 2 parts cocopeat, 1 part worm compost, 2 parts perlite and 1 part fine charcoal. It remains pretty much wet, and they seem to like it.
