    Default Stanhopea ID Please

I received this Stanhopea as a backbulb from my mate about five years ago. I gave it a lot of TLC and it developed and started to grow; however when I had to move four years ago I gave it to my brother with the rest of my collection to look after.
He recently sent me those pictures of the Stanhopea in bloom and I was in awe looking at them and I thought I would share them on this forum.
It is a species orchid but unfortunately I don't know the ID; any suggestions or 'affirmation' from Stanhopea experts welcome .

Apparently it has a very nice fragrance.....

Eric I would say this is so pretty Stanhopea, actually I dont know the ID but it's very close to gibosa or confusa. Maybe somebody very expert in this forum will help you.Zain

Sorry, don't know the name either. I just wanted to say what a beauty this one is. I don't see these locally so I'm guessing they are cool growers. Very pretty!

It is a stanhopia orchid and a beautiful one at that. I bet the fragrance is wonderful! Wish I could help with the identification.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the suggestions Zain. It does look quite similar to 'gibosa' or 'confusa', but for some time I thought it was 'oculata' or even 'inodora'! I think they all look similar and it's quite confusing.... anyway I'll just admire it for it's beauty and not worry so much about the ID at the moment.

    Thanks Connie.
This one is actually a warm grower, doing very well under tropical conditions

Then if it has a vanilla fragrance it might just be Stanhopea oculata.
