    Default Nakamotoara Joyce Hands

A bit of a tongue-twister this ; but I'm only responsible for the grex name, not the genus ( Joyce Hands is my dear wife ).

Flowers about 2cm - the largest, although like most vandaceous plants the later flowers will continue to expand as they age.
It was a disappointment this cross - you can guess what I hoped for when I tell you it is Neofinetia falcata x Ascocenda Blue Boy. All were like this , so I only kept one and grew it into a nice bush of several growths with several spikes, then it rotted out in the middle, and I saved two pieces, which are both now flowering with single spikes.
Where the pink came from, I don't know !

Geoff, I think it is great. I love the spur. It is interesting that it came out pink. Something from the Ascocenda Blue Boy line? Great job naming it after your wife.

There are nearly six billion people on this earth and your wife is one of the few to have an orchid with her name attached to it. What a lucky woman she is!! By the way, you might want to show her this post. It certainly wouldn't hurt. AL

You got it dead to rights. She always has been lovely, and is still lovely to me today although she passed her 82nd birthday some time ago.
