Default Some of my chiloschista collection finally in bloom!

Good I was able to borrow a good quality camera from the office to take these snapshots of some of my non-Philippine species that have bloomed. It really does make a BIG difference when you've got a very good camera for photos vs. my lousy old iphone and digital vidcam.

I've got 6 chiloschistas in my home collection (C. segawai, yuanensis, viridiflava, lunifera, usneoides and parishii) all mounted in wood. These have been with me for a year now. Two of these have finally bloomed with all the TLC and attention I've been giving to them. These are native to Thailand but I was able to grow them here in Manila, Philippines in my grow area.

    I'm so happy!

Great plants and I like the 2nd plant, Chiloschista lunifera as it has dark red colour which are more attractive.
Thanks for sharing. I will look for the Chiloschista lunifera as my 1st plant of this species.
    Regards,

    Thank you lee.

These leafless orchids appear to prefer to be mounted onto good, clean hardwood. Humidity should be up and they grow vigorously under bright light. Big No to direct sunlight because of the potential for too much heat. When watered they should be able to dry out quickly. It's summer here in the Philippines and really hot so I water them 2-3 times a day, very early morning, mid morning and mid afternoon when I can because these are hanging up 2 feet below my plastic roof where it gets bright light. I keep the area humid by wetting the floor and potted plants around frequently.

Thank you Yew. The borrowed camera is a very good camera unlike my old iPhone and my Vidcam which doubles as a camera .... come to think of it, my vidcam is supposed to be a HD Vidcam but when I go try to take photos with it I can never get a good quality photograph .... not even close to ... as the regular cameras do. Oh well ....
