    Default Epidendrum conopseum

Epidendrum conopseum is an epiphyte currently listed as growing in my parish, by Louisiana State University's Ag Center. Unfortunately I have yet to be able to photograph one growing in the wild because the plant is very small with leaves around 4" and it grows amongst restoration fern making it difficult to find. Here's a picture of my greenhouse specimen. Enjoy.

This has a very nice demure beauty to it. I like the beige/green combination. Any fragrance to this? AL

The blooms are lovely. And it looks like this is a plant which does not take up much space, need to get one

Love this. What a fascinating lip. Would love to see a picture of it in situ.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.
@Al, so far no fragrance detected. I'll try again this evening so far nothing in the morning or daytime.

@Branka, this one is classified as a miniature, right up your alley! Easy to grow and I forgot to mention that it can withstand freezing temperatures.

@Yew, hopefully soon, the trick is to go looking when it hasn't rained in a while because the restoration fern dries up, and from what I am told they grow into massive colonies. I'll be sure to share when I do find.

Shane, that's such a nice-looking plant. I agree with Al's description of demure - it's so understated, which adds to its appeal, I think. Thank you for sharing it.

Love the soft tone colors on this one. Can't wait to see the in-situ pic soon .
