    jennevie,

This one is in a make shift mesh basket, I got it this way and decided to let it be... starting to be a problem actually as it is becoming large and very hard to find a good place for it.
You can see how the mesh is like in this post where it bloomed for the first time in my care
    http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...ysonianum.html

I've been planning to divide this and give away divisions of it, however, after seeing this giving me a 2nd spike i think i'd postpone with the idea.... There is absolutely no media in
there except for a few pieces of charcoal which has broken up already. It is growing in full sun, and gets watered 2x daily.

I see. That is really great! I really love the way the flowers are presented, just like flowing down from the plant coz mine are potted with charcoal, and they are on the floor only coz there's no other space for them. Their size is really a headache. It was given 2 me 8 years ago, with only 2 bulbs at around 6 inches long, I never thought that it will be this big.

I divided the plants 2 months ago after it bloomed. I used our kitchen knife to divide it and cut it the way i cut the raddish! hohoho!!! and after the division, I put them in a bit larger pot but still the root ball is so huge that I can't put more charcoal in. So just like no medium. Still observing if it will do any harm. I think postponing to divide your cymbidium is good as it seems to me that they bloom more if left untouched.

I posted pics of my cymbidium. The flower of yours seemed to be longer, but they look quite similar And the raddish-style cut for the cymbidium was not very ok coz as you can see in the picture, the middle plant, the base got bit yellowish...but not sure if it was due to too strong sunlight as i moved them out of the net above...

I have another cymbidium that is in a large claypot now, im planning to do the same and just hang 'em up, but that means I have to break the pot just to 'em... I also have Cymbidium aliciae
which is far smaller than this.
