Agreed! Very nice orchid blooms. I love the huge contrast in color on the blooms.

    Cheers,

If you bought a flask you may end up with a spread of colour tones.

cool thanks for that, will come in handy when i get some cats, but Fredclarkearas are slightly different. and its a meristem flask, so they are exact clones.

that, will come in handy when i get some cats, but Fredclarkearas are slightly different
Fredclarkeara "After Dark" = Catasetum Donna Wise x Mormodia Painted Desert (which in turn has Clowesia & Mormodes in it). So cultivation wise they are pretty much the same as Catasetums. Maybe a tiny little more forgiving to slightly more moisture in winter because of the Clowesia.

    and its a meristem flask
Do you know of which "After Dark" cultivar? That will tell you exactly what it looks like. The colour depends on the cultivar: as far as I know only After Dark 'SVO Black Diamond' and 'SVO Black Pearl' are black (well actually a very dark purple which looks black when photographed in the right light) - there may be a few more by now. All the other "After Dark" cultivars are purple/red/yellow mottled. You can see the colour range of After Dark below
