    Default Another Aerides houlletiana

But by no means as colourful as the one shown on another thread now running.
Curiously all the flowers want to open at once ; I've caught the spike before quite all are open, but there are buds unopened at both top and bottom. My other Aerides without exception open in succession fronm the plant end.
As to colour, maybe mine will turn a better yellow as it ages ?
I have a second plant almost identical, except the spike is perhaps three weeks later. I guess I ordered this from someone and they sent two thinking them a bit small. This is the first blooming. A. affine is another thread to be started immediately.

Nice, so we can successfully rule out light in case of the odorata LOL !

It's really pale for houlletiana. Could it be Aed. falcata??

Thank you Wonderlen - I checked this out on IOSPE , and it could have been my flowers which are illustrated as A. falcata . Yet another label to be printed.
Both of my Aerides are first flowerers, and I suppose to write a new label for a species flowering for the first time, after seeing what one has actually got, is maybe even a 50-50 chance !

Awesome !!! Mietek, Geoffs's plant does look like a falcata. I think there is also a hybrid of these two species which looks like this more, more towards falcata.

Seems to be lost of little difference in falcata. This one is very nice, Geoff.

These are pretty (as are Mieczyslaw's). What a nice vendor to send the extra plant. I rather think the extra plant heard where the package was going and jumped in itself, knowing what a good life it would have with Geoff!
