    Default Ceratostylis retisquama

Thius is the same plant which I showed in my posting of 29th June, under the name C. rubra - I just looked it up and IOSPE says that it is now retisquama. But it is now flowering again, only 6 or 7 weeks since the last batch , but with ever more flowers.
I like orchids which do this for me.

Neat!! How big is it? I have the impression it's a small plant, but can't tell how small.

I think that isabout a five inch pan - so flowers say 3cm across.

Geoff, the Kew monocot list accepts both rubra and retisquama as valid species. Maybe Jim Cootes can cast some light on this.

Wow, it looks like a huge orchid in the photo. Very nice blooms.

I like these waxy, orange flowers and the fact they are blooming often for you certainly is a big plus. I wonder how you thank an orchid? An extra dose of fertilizer or will just soothing words do? AL

Certainly no extra fertiliser ! "Just say ta nicely", as my old mother used to tell me when I ws 2 years old - and "ta nicely" was what I said - being a literal child !
