    Default Eria obesa

Presumably from the little fat buds before they open ? Not a giant - the third p[ic shows the whole ot - a great big 7cm ( just under 3 inch ) one, so flowers maybe 4mm or thereabouts.

I have only had this a few weeks, but it signalled its pleasure at its new home with this flower spike. One to show my great-grandchildren when they come - little kids always love little flowers - maybe they have better eyes than us old folk and see the deatils better ?

I love the texture of the flowers. They look so sparkley. Looks like you are growing that pretty wet? Is that pure spaghnum?

Maybe the little ones see that these miniatures seem to come from the magic lands of Peter Pan or Alice In Wonderland. AL

Hi Ron. I took the label literally and had not checked . You are absolutely right that it is miles different from the Hooker drawing - and from the IOSPE piccy.
Pinalia is a name new to me, but IOSPE lists about a hundred species, mostly re-assigned to Eria. But which Eria (ex pinalia) ? Thats a job for a long wet day I think !
In the meantime a new label - Eria (?) sp.
