    Is that palm tree growing in a pot? I can't imagine you can leave it outside all winter long in london...

    I have always liked Angraecoids and they really do like my conditions. I am at the point though, where I can't get the few ones on my wishlist as not available in Europe.

    Is that palm tree growing in a pot? I can't imagine you can leave it outside all winter long in london...
    London is quite mild: we are in USDA zone 9a and I can grow quite a lot of borderline hardy plants such as some Grevilleas, Proteas, Restios, etc. The bigger problem often is the wet winter weather. I attached a picture of my garden. You'd be surprised what you can grow here!

    Thank you for the compliments. The fact that you can get property with huge gardens at a reasonable price 1.5 miles from the city center is quite unique to London. You can't see it in this picture, but the greenhouse is behind the huge bamboo (in front of which is the palm.
