    @kiwiorchid: I agree, I looked more at the two side lobs and the Ponerorchis is definitely a three lobed orchid. Habenaria is more likely the genus. Anyway, its a good lesson!

    Kiwi, Sally is not Habenaria it is Cynorkis species from Africa the plant and flower exactly no different, I just recently posted the photo, just have a look this thread below. I hope will solve the problem.http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...astigiata.html

    That would make sense...habenaria and cynorkis seem to be in the same group, but Zain's example does look like yours. I think we'll have to give him the detective hat!

    This is Cynorkis fastigiata. A terrestrial species From Madagascar and the islands around it. It has a habit of becoming a weed so be carefull with letting it seed around.
