Very fine, very elegant flowers. I have heard that these orchids can cost thousands of dollars. AL

AL, not this one. But yes, some of them are REALLY expensive. I have seen one growth Neofinetia priced ~ $15,000.

Hi, stunning little beauties! Lets hope they go into rest after flowering so they recharge and reward you again in the spring/summer.

This year has been a very significant one for these neos, saturating varying vendors, auction sites. Although the hype has reduced it reminded me of my then curiosity as to why they became such a frontline major trend.?????????.

And the prices/ value have been a tad shocking! A search only resulted in having the unwilling need to read all results to find out why and we all know the challenge is somewhat frustrating. Any idea why the extent of attention and availabilty occured within a small time frame? Has it only just been discovered and the demand so competative like tickets to a madonna concert!

This is not a variegated variety. What you see is a yellowing old leaf.

Noaki, a nice Neof there. I am a Neof fan also and I have over a dozen of varieties of this species in my collection. They look neat even without the flowers.

Thanks, Tom. A Neo. bug hit me a few years ago and I started collecting some. I have: Kishusekko, Shunkyuden, Tamakongo, Setsuzan along with two Den. moniliformes.
