This is a discussion on Odbrs. Kenneth Bevins 'Santa Barbara' HCC/AOS within the Orchids of Other Genera IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; I bought this one in bloom a few months ago, and to my surprise it ...
I bought this one in bloom a few months ago, and to my surprise it sent up a spike right after the old one died off. I had a *heck* of a time getting a decent photograph of it, trying to get enough light to get a good exposure without washing out the subtle coloring.
Anyway, it's my first spider orchid I got to bloom, so I'm pretty happy with it.
Yes, spider orchid flowers can be tricky to photograph well. You want to show off the long branch of blooms...but the pictures never capture the amazing display they give. And some smell delicious... Yours photographed very well....great job on the pics! And as always...I love the spidery flowers...very pretty!
I have this orchid and I can tell you that is one heck of a display of flowers. AL
Nice! I love our Odbrs Kenneth Bevins. This orchid is so showy.
Congratulations, good growing love that blooms.
In case anyone wants to research this, it's Kenneth Biven. And if you want to frustrate yourself, the RHS now believes this is a Brassidium.
Very nice... Is this one a clone or a division of the piece which got a HCC?
