    Very nice. I love phaius, I think it is one of the most underrated terrestrial species. Elegant foliage and magnificent spikes.

    Hi Connie, all the plants I put into the big pots, through my experience growing this species in the ground should be ok but at one point when the big peudobulb above the top soil they are not stable.

    I saw this species in mountains near Guangzhou.So you can see how widespread it is. Love it!

    I agreed it's very wide spread. In Borneo it grows at altitude 1000meter in the kelabit highlands. possibly grow at higher altitude though i've not come across. This must be a very hardy ones as they adapt well in lowland and highland.

    The blooms of this species are exquisite! Loving the clour combo. How high typically, does the spike grow?

    Hi Kiwi I just measured from bottom to the top the longest spike is about 4 feet and the others spikes average from 2.5 feet to 3 feet. The spike always depend on the pdseudobulb, light and altitude too.

    I love Phaius tankervilliae and its scent, too.
    My plant blooms every year in February-March. Last blooming was really good.
