What a fabulous photo of a fabulous bloom! Knowing you were dealing with depicting such a small plant, I can see why you have shied away from it before now. Your bloom color is very close to that elusive dark magenta-like color that digital cameras can't seem to get quite right - I've struggled with it as well.

Beautiful, just beautiful - the bar has just been raised a little higher....

I grow them on the cool side of intermediate or even cooler in winter. bright shde, let it dry our slightly(not completely dry) between watering, good humidity and good air movement. Most of my Restrepias are mounted on cork or hardwood stick mount but I have two potted in moss in clay pot. Some species can be grown a little warmer but I don't know about hot condition though.

Nice one Tom. Yours is more redish/purple where mine is more orange/red. One feature which is typical for R. contorta seems to be the leaves being slightly bended from one side of the leave. The leave 'touching' the lip on your photo shows this perfectly.

I have no clue what you are talking about. To me, the leaves look just like those on other Restrepia. In my eyes, they look pretty much the same except Restrepia chocoensis.

Hi Tom, what I mean is that the edges of the leaves are bended and that contorta isn't bended symetrically. When I heared it I checked it with my Restrepia trichoglottis and in my case it is that trichglottis is symetrical.

But if all your Restrepia leaves are the same it might well be a fable and that it has more to do with environmental factors.
