    Default Pteroceras cladostachyum ?

    Cheers,

I think I got this last year without bloom... and a few months ago I was trying to make more
room for my plants so I mounted this one on a branch I found lying somewhere among other
orchids... then last saturday I noticed that its got a bug and it seems to be getting ready to
open... and yesterday I looked at it again and boom its finally opened, so i immediately grab for
the camera and took photos... my shaky hands wasnt helping but i was able to take 1 nice photo.
Im not sure about the ID for this one, since this is the first time i've seen it in bloom, so i took
out Jim's book for reference and started to look for it... I think i have found a match Pteroceras
cladostachyum, please correct me if im wrong. Btw the flower is fragrant similar to a mild cologne,
tho the wife wasnt able to detect any fragrance. The plant habit is similar to a phalaenopsis.

    Randy

looks very much like it, and as Jim pointed out, flowers on this species lasts for 2 days, unlike its close relative Pteroceras unguiculatum.

Ron, I have a feeling that the flowers dont last that long... although I noticed that there were a few more buds forming so i guess i'll have a another chance to take a better photo of this.
Also thanks for confirming my ID.

Hi Mietek, the plant you've posted on that day is not the same as what I've posted here... although I have a similar looking plant and blooms, however I was not able to take photos of the
    blooms.

Randy, that means your plant isn't Pteroceras cladostachyum, maybe unguiculatum? Look your plant like an Phalaenopsis?
