Absolutely gorgeous!. Its ephemeral longevity contributes to its sheer unique appeal. They certainly are high on the list for being jewels of the orchid kingdom and have a fascinating story to accompany it.

Very intrigued as to what the mahogany brown linear thing that is protruding from crown of stem at back. If its a spike I was unaware the spiked from the crown. It seems you may have a keiki in development on the horizontal bulb.

With only three flowers its certainly still a sight to be seen. These are the only orchids that I can be less concerned with, in regards to feeding. Very greedy. They certainly take advantage of whats available to reflect their dormancy characteristics.

Out of cycnoche, mormodes, catasetum the first (cyc) certainly holds the cards for me in its ease to rot so easily and so rapidly. Full credit to you and your delivery of care. Stunning flowers!

From all the comments about this Cyc it will come as no surprise that the Champion Plant at the recently concluded 20 WOC in Singapore was Cycnodes (Cycd) Taiwan Gold -
