Trichoglottis brachiata, accepted name seems to be Trichoglottis atropurpurea now.
Another synonym is Trichoglottis philippinensis var. brachiata

Wow! That was fast! Than you! Are they difficult to grow? My mom almost got one but was sure she would kill it!

I found that for you :

The flowers are produced along the stem, between the leaves. Best grown mounted or in a basket, so it may ramble. Plants need vertical support as they grow. Typical Vanda care with bright light, plenty of water, fertilizer, and air movement. Water heavily and allow to dry. The plant produces aerial roots, which can be watered often, if they dry quickly.
And this recent thread on the forum.

I made two seperate purchases of this species this year - it was titled Trich. phillipensis. var. brachiata.Recognised it in the gallery straight away. Both as woody cuttings with aerial roots and an active healthy green lead and both refused to acclimatise. Not had any trouble with vandaceous so not giving up yet ,just waiting for the opportunity of acquiring another. Despite being warned of high vulnerability to crown rot it was just not meant to be. Best of luck to you hope to see updates of your experience. The .var. brachiata label in full has a few posts/threads on here - dorsetman and cdayflorida and connie i think(Forgot username).

    Default Nice!

That's beautiful! I'm having a little trouble gauging it's size - it looks fairly large like 3' or so - is that about right?

I wasn't there in person. My mom just sent me the photos. I will ask her about the size.
