just curious, all the bulbophyllums i had seen had one leave per bulb, but this one had two leaves per bulb and also most of the bulbophyllums flowers are either single, double or arrange in cluster and never i had seen one arrange in linear fashion like this one. perhaps i had not seen enough variety of bulbophyllums. really cool!!!

    Fantastic photo! Nicely done, Lars.

It is Bulbo. wallichii IMO---my wallichii looks like yours(o/c mine can be mislabeled plant too), IOSPE has different kanburiense picture than yours, although some kanburiense photos on internet look like yours but the source may or may not be reliable..., If you can get some reliable info on these two species, please let us know.

It is not an easy one to grow. Mine has been shrinking... How do you grow yours?

Tom, I have no idea. I wouldn't call my source very reliable: the nursery I bought these from have interesting plants but a track record of mislabelling. On the other hand there seems to be lots of confusing information on those two species out there: OrchidWiz has confusing pictures and Emely S Siegerist's book on Bulbo's says that wallichii has 2 cm tall bulbs and a single 10 cm long leaf, whereas my plant is definitely smaller and has two leaves. But then other sources say the opposite.

I grow mine in intermediate to warm conditions in fairly good light, and high humidity. The plant gets a rest (i.e. less watering) in autumn before flowering.

Lars, it is a bifoliate species according the book I have, written by three botanists/taxos/fiel-work reserchers. The photo on the book was taken in-situ and measurements were taken based one the wild plants they encountered.

"Psudobulbs ovoid, 1.5cm long, 1cm thick, 2-leaved at apex." , and they also mention this species has mobile lip.

    Confusing, isn't it?
