This is the second flowering this year, with winter flowers a little smaller than the Summer ones - now some 7cm in the north-south direction - the very largest flower in July was almost 10cm. In my conditions these renantheras are not seasonal at all, they just flower when ready, which is usually after producing two pairs of leaves since the last flowering , as the old flower stems testify. For scale, the plant is now some 15 inches high ( the stem length) and the best recent leaves are some 7 inches long.

It now occurs to me to add a picture of the July flowers - which are not only a little larger, but also brighter :-

    What a beauty.
Do you hang this one really high in your GH? I can't get Renantheras to bloom without almost fun sun and even then it can be questionable.
    Great growing.

10cm from top to bottom for renanthera bella is pretty big. The biggest I can get is about 4cm (top to bottom). Ren. bella is the only renanthera that can't stand hot sun. I grow a lot of renans. all under full sun except bella.

It has been quite a while since the last time I saw this. Love the color and especially the compact size. Thanks for sharing Geoff.
