    Red face Angraecum Sesquipidale

I watched this orchid bloom from a bud to the beautiful flower. Also photographed it as it opened. If you have never watched a Angraecum Sesquipidale (Darwins's Orchid, or Star of Bethlehem) open and then smell its incredible fragrance at night, you must get one. These are pictures as it opens, the flower with a 9 inch spur and a close up of the flower. Two more buds to open! Hope you enjoy

Isn't it fun to watch (and smell) these? Ours bloomed (3 blooms on 2 spikes) right at Christmas - so appropriate! I resisted buying more in bud yesterday, but it was difficult. Your photos are great - what a terrific shape and color you have.
