    Zainal, it's now the bloom time for this species? My plant was in full bloom, already on November.

    Hi Mietek actually the blooming time in Malaysia roughly November and December, I noticed my plants always the last after cattan and mazlani.

    You're right, Zainal. It's blooming out of season! I've mentioned before it's referred to as the Deepavalli orchid as it normally blooms in Oct-Nov when Hindus in Malaysia celebrate the Festival of Light 'Diwali' and the fragrance is reminiscent of the incense burnt in Hindu temples. It is believed that if you bloomed your rochussenii during Diwali it will bring you luck. Ah.. this is going to be one lucky Year of the Dragon!

    Wow!! I just googled the word "Deepavall" & "Diwali".....really beautiful & memorable Festival of Lights.
