One of the smaller flower leafless only green roots appeared on the bark and multiple spikes noted, difficult to find in the jungle.

Taeniophyllum obtusum?

what about Taeniophyllum pusilum?

According to KEW, Taeniophyllum obtusum is a synonym of Taeniophyllum pusillum. So that solves your problem as now T.pusillum is the accepted name.
However, I feel that T.obtusum is just a variant of T.pusillum.
