    Congrats :-)
Thanks, and thank you so much for all your help. Do you know how long the blooms generally last?

They usually last about 2-3 weeks

I need them to get through another 8 days - keeping them cool and shaded and fingers crossed!

What a gloriously beautiful plant - and fantastic pictures, as well! Thank you for sharing, Maura.

We need an update--did it make it to judging?

Sorry, Kathi. unfortunately, despite all efforts to keep it on the cooler side and out of the sun, it burst into full bloom about ten days ago, and by judging was, for judging standards, way past peak. So were my other orchids, most of which had bloomed superbly and were taking it easy by this past Saturday. Oh, well - there's always next year. It is now resting comfortably and bloomlessly for a little while.

Well, a lovely plant in any case!
