    The late David Sander once told me that there are two forms of this species ( which btw, for anyone looking it up, is called Encyclia in IOSPE). One is from Jamaica and perhaps also in Cuba, and the other is mainland. One has larger flowers than the other, although of course there is not a lot of difference , say 3/4 inch flowers or 1 inch flowers. The difference is in petal length. I think this is the larger,from my recollection of when I grew the plant, but do not know whether this is the mainland one or the Caribbean one
