Default aliens - remake (Catasetum yum yum batman)

not my intention to post this female picture of this catasetum cause all the female are similar but just couldn't help noticing the similarity of the pic and the face of the creatures in "aliens"!
was eagerly hoping for a male spike but ended up slightly disappointed. the spike is slightly above two feet with six flowers.
when it blooms, i guess what i will be getting is not Catasetum yum yum batman (ctsm sanguineumxjumbo pearl) but Catasetum big head batwoman - just joking (in mandarin we refer to female catasetum flowers as big head soldier -direct translation; IMHO, this term arises from the catasetum female flower structure to a shako, a military head wear.

What an awesome photo, Ian. I bet this orchid was an inspiration for the alien designer(s). Really cool.

Of course it's a female, Ian - look at the simple elegance, the graceful lines, the rich, yet light, pale green headdress!
