Cool Phaius Microburst 'Octoberfest' AM/AOS and two Aerides

This is the other group I bought on Cathy and I's shopping spree. The nun's orchid caught my eye immediately. There were another six or seven nun's orchids, but they were a more common type with smaller flowers. Mine has very large flowers for this kinds of plant. And they have a slight touch of orange to the flowers that make them really lovely. They also smell heavenly as well...which is why I settled for the plant with one spike instead of a plant with three or four spikes. Lastly; I will put the picture of the two aerides I bought on this post as well. I got a large Aerides oderata and a medium size Aerides houlettiana...and although I almost never spend that much on orchids...these two aerides were just too nice to pass up.

Wow I love this one, in the big picture I thought first that it is two plants as the top was white then I noticed they are all white on the back. How beautiful, I need this one.

The white on the back of the flower is why they call it a "Nun's Orchid"....and also one of the reason's I've fallen in love with them.

We had such a great time! I think the houlettianas we bought were one of the great buys for the size. I'm glad you bought the oderata. It is such a massive plant.
