I appreciate everyone's time and interest in this new acquisition. The grower who sold it to me said that it was a philippenense. He raised them from a flask on. In taking the measurements mine seems to have about 2.5 cm nectary and a shorter flower from end to end. I will be the first one to say that I have no idea as I asked the nurseryman to come talk to me about "this Angreacum", that I was interested in it and had never seen one quite like it before. You guys have forgotten more about orchids than I will ever know.

After three days in a Tampa hotel and the ride back to Atlanta, the blooms are about shot. I understand that it blooms only once a year, so I'll see you back here with some more pictures and measurements then. Same time, same place.

Thanks all for your valuable input.

Thanks Bruce, it's a fun little mini. I am quite taken with mounted mini's and now have about 25 or 30. Not bad for someone who wasn't going to get into orchids. It's just something intangible and unexplainable that overtakes you - especially when you walk into a nursery. I now know that orchid shows are dangerous places to be. Our Atlanta Orchid Show has been going on since Friday and we have been twice and plan to return again today. One thing I have learned is that's the acquisitions one makes are not about need, it's all about want. I get the "I wants" bad at nurseries and shows.

By the way, our monthly AOS judging was held yesterday afternoon. They had judged the entrants in the show the day before. Yesterday, at the normal judging Maura won and HCC/AOS of 78 for a vinicolor Phaph. She has already posted photo's of it on another thread, but this was before winning the AOS award. Go girl.
