Just arrived today - part of my birthday present from my dear wife ( I did the choosing,. she did the paying).
I grow the sibling of this species - C.retisquama ( aka rubra) and consider it one of my favourites, for its frequent flushes of bright orange/red flowers, and its quite rapid expansion to fill a larger pan.
So when I spotted this on a list, and looked it up in IOSPE, and saw it is white flowered, I thought, ah yes, I want that... I was in too much of a hurry . The flowers are, fully expanded a mere 4mm across ( not the 1 cm that IOSPE says even if I didn't actually read that bit).
    Very wee indeed !.

Ah well, maybe it will, in time, grow to be big enough to see as a plant - the clump shown in the pic is a bare 2 inches across...and maybe I shall come to love it.

Several other goodies in the parcel - all what might be called, less usual species - , but nothing else in flower. I'll show them as and when.

I love the crystalline look of its blooms. Tiny, yes, but lovely!

not sure about your plant (based on the photos), but my flower is a lot bigger than 4mm if not 1cm.
Ceratostylis phillipinensis is a very atractive species IMO and I will grow it just for the foliage. A slow grower though.

Hmmm, something is off with your flower, not fully open i suspect.
Jim Cootes notes that flowers are ca.6mm across.

Geoff, for me, for Ceratostylis philippinensis, are the leaves to wide. It looks like Cer. senile, but I have to see full open flowers. There should be some pink marking.

The crystalline of the white is truly pretty, no matter what species it turns out to be. Imagine masses of green and white someday!
