Default Maxillaria Mazillairella ? Help identify

I bought this orchid that I will continue to call Maxillaria but it could now be called a Maxillairiella. Some of the Maxillarias have been changed, but I am not sure. I think it is a Maxilleria. When I bought it the vendor told me what species it was. Did I write it down... Noooooooo, I was too busy buying other things. When I went back today one of the things I was going to do is ask for the species name. It was on my mental list of only a few things to do. Of course I got busy with other vendors buying species mini's mostly, and I never asked the vendor for the species name of this plant. There is something about an orchid show with vendors from everywhere that starts this human feeding frenzy - you just have to have one of those, oh and I'll take 2 baskets, a dozen brown wires for staking and of course san intermediate to cool growing Masdavalia for here in Atlanta because the vendor over there sells these posts you fill with water and it slowly evaporates to create an ambient temp. around the plant that is 10 or 20 degrees cooler that the room temp., and so on. Am I the only one who gets that way when they go to an orchid show or nursery? It's an unexplained state of mind. Your normal brain just goes on vacation and this brain moves in that just HAS to buy orchids and more orchids. Sitting here now I am thinking it's nuts, but it so real.

I am asking all who know more than I do, and that would included all of you, to look at the flower photo's and photo's of the entire plant and please tell me what the species name is. The flower in about a centimeter across and about 1,2 centimeters from top to bottom. The plant is about 30 cm tall or 12 inches now. I believe it will grow taller and spread out when it gets out of that two inch pot.

If you want to know any more about how it looks, just ask. I know there are several of you out there who can identify this thing with your eyes closed. Thanks for help as well as for your time. I appreciate it.

Thank you kindly, I think that is exactly what it is. It comes in variable colors, thus variabillis. Next time I will insist on a tag or either write it down, but I believe you've hit the nail on the head.

Thank you again for your time and interest.

It is a cutie, Phillip. A Maxilariella for sure. Are you going to plant it in that basket? Would make a lovely home for it when it grows a bit more.

    cheers,

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Bruce I think I am going to plant it in the wooden basket and let it grow.
