Fabulous depth of color in the blooms - so rich and saturated. The plant looks a bit like my Maxillaria huntii - are you at all familiar with that species? I'm flying blind on cultivation - can't find anything about it anywhere.

Max. juergensii has nothing like max. huntii. The plant is up-right, 2" tall(.5-.75" pbulb and 1.5" pine-needle like but thin leaves.
I grow my Max. huntii on mount due to its pendant growing habit. bright light, dry slightly between waterings

Thanks, Tom. My Max. huntii came potted in sphagnum, so it sort of looks like it's upright. Not knowing what do do with it, I've left it there, where it is NOT flourishing. I will mount it, then, before I kill it. Is yours mounted with moss? I was thinking of using a small amount of green moss, but perhaps sphag would be better - or should the roots be left without any medium on them? I really appreciate the advice - this is outside my small amount of growing experience.

How gorgeous - and I can't believe the quality of your pictures, Tom! I wish I could capture tiny beauties with a fraction of your clarity. Someday, I may have to get a camera that will help with that.
