How long it takes for it to bloom? Any special care of it?

John, I acquired this plant in late 2009 as one of the OS member passed away and his entire collections were auctioned out. This was one of four labukenkis he had and the largest one. At that time, the longest leaf was about 3 feet long. Now it is about 4 feet.

As for the growing conditions, hmmmm. I grow all my orchids under HID lights. The Vandaceous plants including this are inside the Vanda house. It is hanging about one foot below the light from 6am to 7pm. I water it every morning along with all my Vandas. Fertilize it weekly using 20-20-20 fertilizer for 3 weeks, once a months, I use Bloom fertilizer.

Wow, Naoki - I'm in awe - the blooms look like they're growing on ancient rocks in some undiscovered territory out somewhere near the equator. Sounds like you have quite a system of different "houses" - is that right?

    Thanks, Connie.

Maura, isn't that interesting how you described. You are absolutely right. The flower spike grows the base of the leaf. I just love it.
