    I planted the pteroceras about a foot below the cymbidium finlaysonianum, whose long flower spike can be seen in the photos. Both orchids are in bloom right now. Both are fragrant.

    Thank you, Yew Sung. This has awakened in me a deeper appreciation of our species orchids. Before, I just focused on vandaceous hybrids and some hybrid dendrobiums which are easier to find and bloom more often.

    That's right Zainal. However, I can barely detect the scent of the cymbidium since the pteroceras and the Dendrobium crumenatum (not in picture) which also grow above the cymbidium have much stronger fragrances, especially the crumenatum.
