Ron, the purpure one calls var. marriotiana, but for Kew people it's just a synonym.

A few months ago, a local vendor brought in a bunch of Vandopsis (Hygrochilus) parishii purportedly jungle collected from Myanmar and reaching our country via Thailand. There were many variants from the yellow with spots, all of which were on plants that were quite large; to the clear purplish-red without spots (which we used to call marriottiana), and purplish-red with fine spots, all of which were smaller plants than the yellow variety. I was told that they were all collected from approximately the same area of the Arakan Yoma. These plants were all destined to be shipped out to a dealer who had placed an order for them, so I couldn't persuade the vendor to part with any of them. However I was given 2 very small 'plants' (keikis that had broken off from the mother plant) with one pair of leaves each and no roots. It has been 4 months since I got them and one has died and the other has just one leaf left and still no roots.
