NZ orchids are not very exciting, most are small and blend into their surroundings so you have to look hard to find them. I have attached other photo of Green hood orchids to show you what I mean.

That is so beautiful especially the third photo with the tree ferns ! I would like to wake to such a nice forest in my backyard and go walking into these woods for days on end.

I took the pictures at a place called Pukeiti which you can find on the internet. It is one of New Zealands most important gardens. It id very big and you can walk tracks for hours through bush. Come to New Zealand you would be most welcome.

Ahhh New Zealand, 'Land of the Long White Cloud' and of course, home of the All Blacks - still my dream to visit NZ. But it is very expensive to fly to NZ from here. Have relatives and friends and even my secondary school biology teacher (in Dunedin) there - I'm 74 and God knows how old he is ! I have mentioned in my MOTM interview, that NZ is the place I would love to visit. However, my youngest son went to NZ on one of his work assignments and brought back some gorgeous pictures of the Southern Alps and other fabulous scenics (Photo Kit)

cattan thank you for the pictures they are wondeful. It seems your son has done well in his work, you must be very proud of him. Perhaps he could bring you here someday.

Yes, I'm very proud of him and of my two other sons as well - the important thing is that they enjoy their jobs. Our one wish is that one day the whole family, including my 2 teenage grand daughters will take a self-drive holidays in NZ.
