    Default Bulbophyllum medusae

Out of 3 clumps that I currently have only this smallest clump is blooming. Bloom is around 4 inch tall and 2 inch in diameter. Remains in this prime condition for only 1 day after which it will quickly deteriorate. Couldn't recall any fragrance. Just thought that I would share it here .

It reminds me of an advert on English TV - used to sell some kind of paint ( an old Emglish sheepdog I think its said to be).
Repots of the pong - always mentioned in books - deter me from this species. Maybe I'll take the risk next time I see it.

I love this orchid. Mine is growing in a very shallow wooden basket - almost a mount. When it blooms, the blooms do not go far enough out from the plant and it looks messy. How do you get yours to put the blooms so far out from the plant? I really love the look of your Bulbophyllum medusae. Nice growing.

    cheers,
    BD

Awesome species! Bulb. medusae is a big part of what got me hooked on orchids many years ago.

This is the one that got me started on bulbos. Mine is still struggling. It has done nothing for a year + then in started to go down hill. Finally I mounted it and it is starting to put out a new growth. Still hoping. Geoff, from what I have heard, the scent is lightly of spoiled milk.

BD, I think this is best grown mounted. This way they can "let their hairs down" . Thanks for looking and commenting.
