Default Catasetum macrocarpum, female flower, from Brazil

One of the most common orchids here in northern Brazil, Catasetum macrocarpum, large orchid, which I have been with me for over 8 years, and is approximately 80 cm in this series, I show you the female flower, which is more difficult to have requires a longer exposure to the plant to sunlight.

thanks for sharing these, though most female catasetum looks almost alike, but it is my first time to see a female macrocarpum.

Catasetum orchids are not so common around here, so reading your post about it be one of the most common where you are made me smile. This orchid, like all of the Catasetum orchids are so unique and different. Really beautiful.

    cheers,

The flowers are amazing, and I'm grateful for your sharing of them. I'm really astounded, though, at the photographs themselves - the details with the bees is incredible! Thanks so much.

These blooms are both interesting and up here in the north they look quite exotic. Love those 'hoods'. AL
