    Very pretty, Ian. Looks very much like a pileatum, but there is so much cross breeding among the catasetum that they'll soon be like the phalaenopsis and very difficult to ascertain the parentage.

    thats why i said "wild"....they not really wild...dey pop up on fruit trees from time to time in our yard....the seeds fall on the moss on the branches and grow...so 'semi wild' i guess

    HI, glad to see you guys dropping by, had been sometime since i last saw your posts.
    sorry for the misleading title Yew Sung and Mazlan, the question mark in the title actually carries a little bit of sarcasm regarding the labeling of this plant as the red variety of penang. the ID is catasetum penang. this plant plant is bought from flasked seedlings, that means the entire batched would be wrongly labelled as the red variety which they are not.
