So sorry for the late reply as I couldn't access the internet where I spent my break in our cool Cameron Highlands, the same place Lizgeo visited to see our orchiuds in situ. Just arrived back home an hour ago feeling much invigorated.

Btw it was a sort of a holiday as the whole nation celebrated Malaysia Day on 16 Sept ( a Sunday) and we had a extended weekend Sat-Mon.
Please don't fault yourself on any account - I think replying an hour after arriving at home is prompt, indeed. I asked about 'holidays' because I'm woefully ignorant of the many religious holidays around the world. As a fellow retiree, I understand your ennui with day-to-day life - that's precisely why Phillip and I are going to Puerto Rico for 2 months. Phillip asked me to say 'hello' to you from him. Right now he's loading orchids and bonsais into the car so that we can take them to the nursery - we leave for Maine on Tuesday!

Thanks Maura, Say 'Hello' to Phillip for me too. Enjoy yourselves and stay safe.

We will, thanks - and I'll still be on OT from time to time - We're taking our new D300s to Maine with us and hope to catch some good shots of the foilage and coastline.

By the way, the D300 really is superior to the D200 - and just as difficult to master!

i like this color variation very much...how do you grow this? do you dig out the tuber after all leaves fall off or just leave it there and stop watering? thanks Yew

Since I just got the Habenaria last year, I left it in the media after blooming as it was quite a small plant but withheld watering until I saw the first green shoots. After this blooming I think I shall dig out the tuber and keep it in some dry sand and fine pieces of charcoal and replant when new shoots appear. That's what I did for H carnea years ago.

Beautiful intense color. Love the shape of the blooms also.
