Curious rather than beautiful perhaps. Flowers intriguing, but due to their size - maybe 1 cm across, and even more so the rather subdued colour, not exactly eye-catching.
But still 20 + spikes on a little trayful ( what I call a half tray - about 8 inch x 6 inch) is quite something.
Must be an easy one to grow !. But I don't think I'll put it into a larger pan, maybe I'll just divide it up, pot up a dozen props, and sell it on that well-known auction site.

As to that auction site, It seems that if you put up a lurid picture, and label it very rare, people do pay quite remarkable prices ! I have been following a few Catasetum hybrids there lately, and seen them go for prices approaching or even exceeding 100 US$ - which is fine if you look at the pictures of the flowers, but scan across to pics of the actual plants on sale - weedy little props- which I would have been happy to pay 1/10th of that for... Life is peculiar, ain't it. Or maybe I just undersestimate the value of my plant collection - anyone interested in acquiring the lot - all 2000 plants for a mere 25 million bucks ?

Congrats! This seems to enjoy how you look after it and that's a wonderful blooming reward! I don't think I would go out and buy one (have too many others on my wish list) But interesting none the less. Thanks for posting! one learns and sees different plants every day.
