A great reliable bloomer, which looks good out of bloom too. It blooms late summer, reblooms a second time off of the same growth in early fall, but then goes into dormancy until spring.

I agree with the comment on it looking it good out of bloom...it is a beautiful growth style with the really fat cane. The blooms are nice bonus.

Amazing, too people with that plant in bloom on the forum. Never seen it before, but love the "Miss Liberty" type effect of the petals/sepals...

This one hasn't been picky for me. It's potted in old sphag which I should really replace. I keep it on the wet side from the moment I see new growth in the spring until I see leaf drop in the fall. I keep it almost totally dry over winter, and at 50-60F, with less light. In the spring, I put it outside as soon as possible, where it enjoys full sun for around 3/4ths of the day, including the hottest part of the day.

It's a nice, compact, easy grower, for me at least.

I'll be curious to see if titusblm is growing his in the same conditions . . .

Very cool, Sue. Just saw Titus' pic too. I agree with Tim--good to see the plant as well! I've never heard of, or seen this. Really like the trumpet lip.
