Default Psychillis Kraenzlinii X Epi. Stamforianum alba

This was a freebie included with an order a few years ago, first time blooming for me. I included a photo to show how large the bloom stalk is compared to the plant. I drew a craptastic arrow pointing to the plant. The plants shown in the photo I received mounted, they are overgrowing them so I slapped some tree fern on the backs of most of them.Name: pscho (Copy).jpg

You don't see many Psychilis hybrids. I had to look up Psy kraenzlinii. Not much of Epi stamfordianum came through in this. The Psychilis spike can be over 8 feet, and can rebloom for several years in season, so don't cut it back unless it dies on its own. Thanks for posting this unusual hybrid.

A lovely orchid. Like Kirk I had to look up Psychilis kraenzlinii and that it had been variously listed under Encyclia and Epidendrum and crosses with it may have been listed under these genera. Wish I could use Orchidwiz on my Mac.
