My daughter, Abby, insisted that the weather was too nice to stay inside and sort through mountains of stuff post-Phillip's death, so we went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens yesterday and I took my D300 with the 105 fixed focus lens. There were too many orchids to photograph properly! The Orchid House was the most amazing I've seen yet - they're setting up for a "Surrealism"-themed orchid display, and I'll try to post a few Abby took that give a sense of the Dali-like world they're creating. In the meantime, here are various orchids in bloom, with a couple of tropicals mixed in for interest. I know what many of them are, but I know some of you like to id them.
I have a few more, plus a couple from Abby's photos to post, but it's time to get to work. I hope you enjoy. It's been awhile since I've done a tour through the Gardens.
Spectacular flowers and excellent photographs. Do you know what that interesting leaf is in that last series of photographs?
Great shots, Maura. So glad to see that you are up and about again. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Thanks for posting. Glad the orchids were able to cheer you up a bit.
