1st home blooming. Always in bloom since 1 month since buds sequentially open on the spikes (one flower per spike).

Oooooh.....WOWZA!!! I love the peachy tones! I've always wanted to acquire a Lycaste, but I've heard they can get quite huge. (Of course, I just brought home a 3-foot tall Cymbidum, so my "size rules" are beginning to go out the window I think). This has to be one of the loveliest Lycastes I've seen so far. The soft art shades are just stunning!! Nice growing!!

Oh, and I love how you composed the pic...the flower appears to be 'posing' for the shot!

Thank you Jenn. You're right, its a quite huge (wide) plant with very big leaves. Flowers are hidden in the shadow of leaves.

Oooohhhh....looky there! Thanks for including the wide-angle view so I could see the plant as a whole. Usually all I ever see are closeups of the blooms...it's nice to see what the whole plant looks like! I think it's glorious...and are those several additional spikes I see coming out of the pot? That's one well-performing orchid! I still say this is the prettiest Lycaste I've ever seen. Just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Lovely blooms and great shots as usual, Eric. Now this is a genus we don't see often on OT. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. I agree we do not see many of these on Ot, and I have never really considered them for my collection. I will now take a look at their culture to see if I can grow them in my climate.
Your photos, and the Orchid are excellent.
    Congrats

I know that most of them like intermediate to cool climates bit a few of the macrophylla group can tolerate warmer conditions. I see a few being offered by our highland vendors but all are NOIDs so there's no way to tell their parentage and thus their warnth tolerance.

    Thank you.
It's a small division from a huge plant of my friend Irène who got more than 30 buds on its plant.
