Default Re-bloom of Cymbidium "Pink champahne ' ' old vienna'

As you know that i 've got 2 pots of Cymbidium from my husband on Valentine last year.i re-pot in a bigger pot and left them outside, under the shade.

before my vacation i saw some stem coming out from both pots and i keep my eyes on them..till today one stem is fully open.

here're some pictures from one pot. hope i can have 2-3 stems and they continue to bloom for me later.

this picture did when i came back from vacation.

    later on,they start to open

I thought cyms liked being potbound and have been afraid to repot mine. Clearly these are doing beautifully and are not potbound! They're outside, so the climate is different, but still. It's good to see that.

WOW I'm drooling!!! They're just gorgeous. Kitty! Cymbidiums are one of the hardest to come by here. We are limited to only the heat tolerant ones but thanks to the work of Pakret of Thailand we are beginning to see a few cyms coming in. In one of his articles on growing cyms he recommended using very deep 'cymbidium' pots to encourage the cyms to produce very long flowering stems. His side-by-side pictures of the same sibling cymbidiums grown in shallow 'normal' pots and another in deeper cymbidium pots clearly demonstrate the dramatic difference - the spike on the plant in the deeper pot was at least a third taller!

    Mabuhay!

Cymbidiums are the only orchids that would push me to live in a cold place. Fantabulous!!! Congratulations!!!

What beautiful orchids, Kitty! You do wonderful work - and thanks to your husband, as well, for giving you lovely orchids to work with.
