    Ok. Thank you, Yew. You're right, there are so many lookalikes because they share one or the same parents I think. By the way, the second one, the one whose skirt is not so rounded, I've had that one for years. It is a smaller plant with much shorter leaves, and blooms very rarely. Unlike the bigger one which is a generous bloomer.

    Thank you Max. I'm happy you noticed the hibiscus too. I kind of put the yellow flowers close to each other. Actually the oncidium is attached to a larger pink hibiscus.

    Even in species, there are dozens with similar flowers. But sometimes the bulbs etc can be used to distinguish. If you are still looking a pic of the whole plant would help.

    Thank you Pavel. It sure is a scene-stealer. LOL. I don't know the ID of that hibiscus either. It was being sold along the national highway while on my way home from the farm two years ago.

    Ok Geoff. The first two photos are those of the bigger oncidium, the one with the hibiscus in the photo, while the last two pictures are those of the smaller oncidium.
