Quite similar to R.citrina, and differing perhaps only in the shape of the lip. But a much brighter yellow colour than citrina - at least based on the single plant of each in my collection ; this is a first flowering of this plant, and R.citrina is also in advanced spike at the moment, so I may be able to do a comparison pic, side-by-side, in a few weeks time, assuming that this annamense lasts as long as most Rens do.

Nice, but I think that this is a Ren. citrina. In "Curtis's Botanical Magazine" vol. 133 (Ser. 4 no. 3) tab. 8116 (free aivailable if you search for it) you can find a detailed coloured drawing. And this looks quite different than your plant.

I like how in the photos the flowers appear "disembodied". Very lovely colour.

There is difference in the lip shape. I will dissect a lip from both species, once the other pant opens its flowers , , and do a comparison.
You may be right..... Or not !

Maybe you can take some pictures right now if the flowers doesn't last until the citrina opens. So we can compare them afterwards virtually. The Species Identification Task Force also identified once a Renanthera as annamensis, but they corrected it to citrina after consulting Dr. Averyanov.

Beautiful flowers, Geoff. The first reminds me of fairies flying above the plant.

Fairies are at the bottom of my garden ? Never ( NEVER ! ) above my plants ... everything in it's place, please, in this best of possible worlds.
I wonder if they can be seen by the naked eye, if you live in a 10 dimension universe - but then we all do ( live in a 10 dimension universe) ... but then I can see fairies - can't you `? ( Finishing off that bottle of Cotes du Rhone may have been a mistake at lunch time......) perhaps I had better wander off....
