    Default Dendrochilum magnum

I got this plant at an 'orchidfest' held in my area at a local nursery. The nursery had a specimen plant in one of their green houses. The scent of the flowers was just incredible. It's very hard to desrcibe. "Spicy" might be the best way. But it was so strong! I was very excited to find that one of the vendors was selling these. I bought mine with 3 new growths on it and was lucky enough to have one start producing a flower spike soon after it came home with me. In the end, the spike ... just the part with the flowers... was about 1 foot long and hade about 70-75 individual flowers on it. Each flower was probably about 1 centimeter wide. And they smelled great!

Wow, that flower spike looks so graceful! And you've sold me on the smell... definitely one to look out for now!

    Thanks for sharing.
