    Default Ponerorchis graminifolia

Ponerorchis graminifolia is a dwarf herbaceous, Japanese, terrestrial orchid originally found on craggy rock ledges. The entire plant rarely exceeds 15 cm in height. The plants grow from underground light brown tubers that look like little potatoes.

Wow, yours are already in bloom?! I'm impressed. We've had such a bad winter and spring here in the UK that mine haven't even started to grow yet. Still, even in a good year they generally don't bloom for me before August.

Very cool! Wouldn't mind trying these myself.

So you grow them as potted plants, Ron? What do you find needs be done for their winter rest?

Nothing...it just sits dormant and dry in a cool window for the winter. I don't restart watering until I see some growth

Sue, I grow it in a window. It goes dormant in the fall and sits in a cold window until new growth starts and then I start watering. Wish I could get a few Aussie terrestrials. Australia have some very nice ones!!!
